Catalpas Atelier News — Cookie Policy
Heliopolis Creative and Culture Limited (Hong Kong) \u00b7 privacy@catalpasatelier.com
This Cookie Policy explains how blog.catalpasatelier.com (“this blog”) uses cookies and similar technologies. Read it together with the Privacy Notice. This policy covers the blog subdomain only; the main website at catalpasatelier.com publishes its own cookie disclosures.
1. What we mean by “cookies”
A “cookie” is a small text file stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. In this policy we use “cookies” as shorthand for cookies and other client-side storage and tagging techniques used for similar purposes.
Items set from blog.catalpasatelier.com are first-party. Items set by third-party services we load on the blog from their own domains are third-party.
2. Cookie categories and your control
We group cookies into three categories. Each category has its own consent state.
- Essential. Strictly necessary to deliver the blog, remember your language and consent decision, and prevent abuse. Always active; no consent required.
- Analytics. Help us understand how visitors find and use the blog, in aggregate. Loaded only after you opt in.
- Marketing. Help us measure and optimise our advertising. Loaded only after you opt in.
You can accept or reject analytics and marketing cookies through the cookie banner shown on your first visit, and change your decision at any time by clicking “Cookie preferences” in the footer. You can also clear or block cookies via your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the blog from working correctly.
For Google Analytics specifically, you can additionally install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. For Meta advertising preferences, see Meta’s Ads Preferences.
3. What each category does
Essential. Records your cookie consent decision so we do not ask again on every visit, remembers the language you selected for the blog, and supports basic security or anti-abuse features provided by our hosting and CDN.
Analytics. Where you opt in, we may enable Google Analytics. It uses cookies set by Google to distinguish visitors with a pseudonymous identifier, measure aggregated traffic, and produce reports about page popularity, session length, referral sources, and the country or region of access. Google may receive a truncated form of your IP address; we do not give Google your name or contact details.
Marketing. Where you opt in, we may enable the Meta Pixel. It uses cookies set by Meta to measure the effectiveness of campaigns on Facebook and Instagram, to attribute conversions to the right campaign, and to build audiences for advertising on Meta platforms. Meta may receive your IP address, page URL, referrer, and event identifiers.
We disclose the category and provider for each item but do not publish individual cookie names and lifetimes, because those are set by the providers and can change without notice. Authoritative, up-to-date inventories are available from the providers — see Google’s Cookie Usage Information and Meta’s Cookies Policy.
4. Cookie banner behaviour
On your first visit, a banner appears at the bottom of the page asking you to choose. Until you make a choice, only essential cookies are set; analytics and marketing tags are blocked by default. If you change your decision later via the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer, existing analytics and marketing cookies are cleared on a best-effort basis and no further data is collected from your browser via those tags.
5. Server-side data
Independently of cookies, our hosting and CDN may write short-lived access logs (IP address, user-agent, request path, status code, timing) for the purposes described in the Privacy Notice. These logs are not used for advertising or cross-context tracking and are retained for a limited period.
6. Service providers
The following providers may process technical or pseudonymous information related to this blog:
- Hosting and CDN. Our static site is delivered by a content delivery network and edge platform.
- Google Analytics. Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
- Meta Pixel. Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland.
Cross-border transfers and the safeguards we rely on are described in the Privacy Notice.
7. Changes and contact
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, especially when we add, remove, or replace any tag or service. The most recent version is always available at this URL with its effective date. Material changes are announced through the cookie banner or an in-blog notice.
